What is Sahara Refund Portal?
Sahara Refund Portal has been launched for investors who invested money in Sahara’s schemes years ago and have completed its period But have not received the money back. The portal has been launched as per the Supreme Court directive, asking the government to return the money to investors before December.
On this portal, the investors of Sahara will get complete information about the process of how their money will be returned. The government’s effort through this portal is to return money to investors in a transparent manner.
Please tell me, the application was filed on 29 March 2023 by the Ministry of Cooperation to return the money of Sahara investors. After this, the Supreme Court asked to transfer five thousand crores of rupees from the Sahara-Sabi refund account to the central registrar, After which this portal has been launched to refund the money.
Most of the Sahara Group’s investors are middle and low-income groups. These belong to several states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, and Madhya Pradesh।
Who will get the money?
Investors of Sahara Group have invested in Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Saharayan Universal Multipurpose Society Limited, Our India Credit Cooperative Society Limited, and Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited. Money will be given back to those investors।
What to do to claim money?
First of all, investors have to find out which committee of the Sahara group has invested money. Documents associated with this have to be submitted. Information related to what role the Sahara agent will play in it will be known only after the launch of the portal.
